The thriving South Cambridgeshire village of Balsham is set in undulating countryside some 10 miles to the south east of the University City of Cambridge. Being close to the A11 the village is ideally located for access to Cambridge and the M11 (junction 9) which then provides direct access to Stansted Airport, the M25 (junction 27) and East London. Train stations can be found at Whittlesford Parkway and Audley End for main line rail services to London (Liverpool Street) and Cambridge. Balsham’s Holy Trinity Church dates from the 13th century and the village is home to Meadow Community Primary School, a post office/general store and two well renowned public houses The Bell and the Black Bull.

The village hall hosts a number of clubs, societies and groups providing a variety of activities. The local recreation ground hosts football and cricket teams as well as a bowling green. The Balsham Feast is a very popular local summer fair with food stalls, games, shows and live music. Additional education facilities for all ages are provided for in the surrounding area, including Linton Village College. Extensive shopping and leisure opportunities are available in Cambridge and the surrounding towns of Saffron Walden, Newmarket and Haverhill which are all within easy reach.
